Always verify a result against your flag state's current rules and your company's official rest-hour recording system before relying on it for any compliance purpose.
A note on methodology
The "rest split into no more than two periods" rule is evaluated using a reasonable, good-faith method — anchoring the 24-hour check to when each rest period actually begins, rather than sampling at arbitrary fixed intervals, to avoid flagging a single well-formed rest period as if it had been artificially split. This is a modelling choice made for clarity and practical usefulness, not an official interpretation issued by IMO, the ILO, or any flag administration.
Privacy: your schedule data stays on your device
All calculations run client-side, in your own browser, using JavaScript. The dates, times, and schedules you type into the calculator are never transmitted to, stored on, or logged by any server operated by this site. Closing the tab clears them.
